HVS Appoints Adel Alchamat Technical Director

Strengthening Player Development Pathways & Coaching Excellence

Hoover–Vestavia Soccer (HVS) has announced that Adel Alchamat has been named Technical Director to oversee club-wide technical direction and coaching standards

In this role, Alchamat will guide the club’s technical direction, supporting coaching education, player development pathways, and consistent training standards across all age groups. He will work closely with club directors, coaches, and families to strengthen curriculum alignment, support coach development, and help maintain a positive, player-centered environment from grassroots through competitive levels.

Adel arrives at HVS with experience across several youth development environments. He most recently worked with the Clearwater Chargers as an MLS NEXT Head Coach. Before moving to Florida, he served as Director of Soccer Operations and Head Coach at Cedar Stars Academy in New Jersey. His earlier work includes coaching with Soccer Training Academy (STA) and beginning his career within the New York Red Bulls youth program as both a coach and regional coordinator. Adel holds a U.S. Soccer A License, UEFA B License, MBP License, and serves as a U.S. Soccer B License educator.

Adds MLS NEXT Director Mike Keeney, “Adel Alchamat is a fantastic addition to the HVS staff. Having worked with him previously, I know firsthand the professionalism, elite coaching ability, and tactical expertise he brings to a program. His knowledge of the game and commitment to player development will be a tremendous asset to HVS.”

Alchamat brings experience in youth development and coaching leadership, with a track record of implementing training methodologies, technical curricula, and seasonal planning. He will work closely with HVS coaching staff to evaluate best practices, maintain competitive standards, and reinforce the club’s values on and off the field.

Hoover Vestavia Soccer (HVS) is proud to announce the addition of Mike Keeney to its coaching leadership. A world-class tactician with over 30 years of experience at the game’s highest levels, Keeney brings a global pedigree to Alabama, further solidifying HVS’s commitment to elite player development.

Mike most recently came to us from Florida, where he served as Executive Director and MLS NEXT Director of the historic Clearwater Chargers Soccer Club. This appointment brings Mike full circle, as he served as Director of Coaching for Hoover Soccer Club and as an Assistant Coach at UAB twenty years ago.

In 2008, Mike moved abroad to coach professionally in Finland. What followed was a 13-year career in European professional football.

Keeney’s resume is distinguished by his tenure in the UEFA Europa League and his work with both Senior and Youth National Teams in the United States and abroad. As a holder of the UEFA Pro License —the highest coaching certification in the world—he joins HVS with a level of expertise rarely seen in youth soccer.

International Tactical Expertise : Successfully managing teams in the UEFA Europa League against premier European clubs.
National Team Impact : Mentoring top-tier athletes within U.S. and international youth national team systems. He is currently on staff with the U.S. U16 National Team .
Coaching Education : Serving as an instructor for the U.S. Soccer ‘A’ Coaching Course , helping shape the methodologies used by the country’s top coaches.

HVS is proud to announce that Integra Forensics is once again sponsoring our series of free ACT Prep Classes , now in its third consecutive year. As a national leader in Accident Reconstruction , Integra provides scientific analysis across various industries, including transportation and general safety. Their focus on critical thinking aligns perfectly with the goals of our ACT Prep Program.

Dates: Mondays – August 4, 11, 18, and 25
Time: 6:00–8:30 PM
Location: SHAC Meeting Room
Instructor: James Bondurant, a seasoned ACT tutor with 10 years of experience. Students who practice and study his materials typically see an average score increase of 3 points , with some improving up to 6 points in specific sections!
Capacity: 30 players (preference given to seniors, then juniors).
Deadline to Apply: July 28

What’s Included:

Complete review of all ACT subjects.
English and math review sheets.
Test-taking strategies and skills for all sections.

Guiding the Future of HVS Talent Through MLS NEXT Tier 2

Hoover-Vestavia Soccer is proud to announce that long-time staff coach Grant Hudson has been named Director of the MLS NEXT Tier 2 Program .

Grant holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Mississippi College, where he was also a standout player and team captain. Over the past two years, he has coached multiple HVS teams with consistent success and noticeable development across each group.

With MLS recently acquiring the National Academy League , the HVS Boys’ second teams will now compete in the MLS NEXT Tier 2 division . This exciting change brings improved structure, reduced travel demands, and high-level matchups against other top MLS NEXT programs.

In his new role, Grant will lead the way in scheduling, training, and player development for all six Tier 2 teams.
