About
Grant Hudson is a dedicated and emerging coach within Hoover-Vestavia Soccer’s MLS NEXT program, bringing strong experience in player development, program organization, and leadership across youth and pre-professional environments.
Grant currently serves as a Head Coach at HVS, where he is responsible for session planning, team organization, and delivering a structured training environment aligned with the club’s development standards. In addition to his coaching role, he has taken on leadership responsibilities within the club, including serving in an Assistant Director capacity, supporting operational and program coordination.
Prior to joining HVS, Grant held the role of Academy Director and Head Coach at Mississippi Brilla Juniors, where he oversaw the development pathway for players aged U8 - U17. In this role, he managed coaching staff, built training curriculum, and coordinated club-wide programming, demonstrating his ability to lead both players and coaches within a structured environment.
Grant has also gained valuable experience at the pre-professional level as Head Coach of Mississippi Blues, leading the team to a GCPL2 League Championship, while managing all aspects of team operations including training, match preparation, and logistics. His coaching foundation is supported by experience in the high school game, where he worked with both boys and girls programs, as well as extensive involvement in camp environments, directing multiple camps focused on player development and engagement. A U.S. Soccer B Licensed coach, Grant is committed to his ongoing professional development and growth within the game.
As a former collegiate player at Mississippi College, where he served as team captain, Grant
understands the demands of the player pathway and brings that perspective into his coaching. His
approach emphasizes organization, communication, and creating a positive, competitive
environment where players are challenged to improve every day.
At HVS, Grant plays an important role in supporting the club’s mission of developing complete
players through a structured, high-performance environment aligned with MLS NEXT standards.
